With two more days of racing at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in the rearview mirror, UVM sophomore Ben Ogden and Middlebury junior Alex Lawson have earned EISA Skier of the Week honors.
Ogden, a native of Landgrove, Vermont, is a member of the US Ski Team Development Team and a 2019 World Junior Ski Championships gold medalist. He qualified first overall in Friday's classic sprint and skied into the semifinals, finishing as the top EISA skier. In Saturday's 10k, he battled for the EISA lead before eventually finishing third. Ogden's pair of podiums helped the Catamount men win both days of nordic racing, and heavily contributed to UVM's combined carnival win.
Lawson made the most of another trip to her home trails at Craftsbury. She finished third in Friday's sprint and fifth in Saturday's 5k, adding to an already-impressive carnival season that included a win and second place at Harvard Carnival. Lawson was also a key scorer for the Middlebury women, helping the Panthers win their second and third races of the season.
