As the carnival season winds down, athletes are running out of opportunities to grab skier of the week honors. This week's honors went to two athletes that have been in the running just about every week. From Saint Michael's, the third Purple Knight to get the nod this season, Helene Kristoffersen is the skier of the week on the women's side.
Kristoffersen won the GS by an astounding one and a half seconds and backed up her result with a fourth place in the Slalom. Her win in the GS came after two second-place finishes behind Allie Resnick of Dartmouth. She defended her leader's bib in the event and sits in the driver's seat heading into the finale this week, where she will get two cracks at the hill.
Kristoffersen's finish in the Slalom also represents a season's best. She moved up from eighth place on the first run with a top 5-second run to end the day in fourth.
The University of Vermont has been nearly unstoppable on the circuit this year, and a big part of that is Mathias Tefre. Tefre has won four of the five Slalom races so far this season, and despite not being nearly as dominant in GS, his eighth-place finish this week proved to be enough. As a result, he becomes the fifth Catamount to earn skier of the week honors this season.

The season's final week will be a doozy, with the makeup GS race from Saint Michaels scheduled for Thursday and then the Saint Lawrence carnival scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
