After the University of New Hampshire carnival at Burke Mountain, EISA announces Moa Clementson and Jagge Lindstoel from the University of Vermont as the skiers of the week.
After a disappointing Bates Carnival, Clementson, who won three of last year's five slalom races, rebounded with a second-place finish in the Slalom and a 19th place finish in the GS. Her ability to finish both events catapulted her above others that may have surpassed her to win skier of the week honors. A second-place finish coupled with her 8th from last week's GS all but guarantees her a spot at NCAA championships.
The Norwegian battle came down to a tie-breaker this week, with Mathias Tefre and Jagge Lindstoel locked on 180 points, with each possessing a first and second place finish. In the end, Lindstoel got the nod after his blowout win in the GS, where he won both runs. His two results come after he was unable to start the Bates Carnival because of a back injury. "The conditions were challenging, but I stayed with my game plan, and it paid off. A [few] good days of skiing." Said Lindstoel after his opening win.
