Mangan and Alkier are the alpine skiers of the week

After the UVM carnival up at Stowe this weekend, Dartmouth's Tricia Mangan and Middlebury's Justin Alkier are the alpine skiers of the week. Mangan was frighteningly consistent with a second place GS finish and a second place slalom finish on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and earned Dartmouth a formidable 94 EISA points (of 198 total points scored by Dartmouth women). Alkier, though he missed the GS podium by a tenth of a second and finished fourth, came back with a vengeance on Saturday morning to get the win in slalom. He earned 91 points for Middlebury, of 211 total for their male athletes.

As skiers head home and gear up for what will surely be a delightful weekend at Sugarloaf at Colby's upcoming carnival, UVM is barely hanging onto its early lead on the alpine side of the EISA--UVM has 867 alpine points, Middlebury is close behind with 860, and Dartmouth rounds out the top three with 856.
